First Day

First Day

SK already! 😳 How can I slow down time?  Seriously she’ll be 5 soon!  😭

This year definitely looks different than how I envisioned, however the one thing I’ve learned over the years is that you need to learn how to adapt. As someone who thrives on planning ahead and wanting to know exactly what’s next, I’m needing to trust in the process and learning how to be patient.  As we all know, things don’t always go as planned and that’s ok.  When one door closes, another door opens and behind that door may be something even better!

I really feel for parents and kids right now, especially when it comes to back to school plans.  These decisions are so hard on parents and we’re feeling torn between needing to provide for our children, while also navigating their education, socialization, mental and physical health needs.  This process feels absolutely overwhelming with only one child, I cannot imagine how parents with multiple children are feeling.  No matter what your choices are, there is no judgment here.  I completely understand that gut wrenching feeling and sincerely hope for the best outcome for everyone.

We’re all doing the best we can and that will most likely mean we’re going to drop the ball in some areas of our life.  Please be kind and understanding towards yourself and more than ever!

Currently we’re enrolled in virtual learning, but may switch between that and homeschooling...we’ll see how it goes.  Thankfully Kindergarten is not mandatory, so we have some wiggle room.  I definitely want to take her on outdoor learning adventures, so we may need to skip school some days.  Realistically in both school and homeschool they have these days, so I’m just revamping the online school model to work for us.  Who knows where we’ll go from here, but here’s to trusting in the process.

Wishing you all the very best!
